I completed work on the rough draft of THE DRAGON MISTRESS this morning. Writing the epilogue, I closed it off at just over 92,500 words. There is still plenty to do, including a missing chapter that needs a little more time to stew in my mind, and plenty of place holders to fill in. I'll be setting aside the manuscript until later in 2017, however, and returning to THE CURSED MAN. As the two books share the same universe, and the same time period, naming some of the cities and places in that story will carry over into the other.

I'll also be looking into finding better names for the two books, as THE CURSED MAN is rather generic (as it would be, as it's about a man who is cursed), while THE DRAGON MISTRESS isn't at all reflective for the relationship between the protagonist and the dragon in question. My plan once both stories are rewritten is to read them both through and make necessary tweaks and updates, hand it over to some beta readers, and then go shopping for an agent or publisher. I've got no plans right now to self publisher either of these books right now, as I'd like to see how things work from the other side. I also believe that these are two books that a publisher would love to acquire.
